    Description

As Naga ceremonial necklaces go, this one is fairly contemporary (1980s?) and the pendant has a distinctively contemporary feel.
A 30 year+ Naga necklace featuring beautiful yellow and red trade beads accented by royal blue, orange and soft blue accents.
A 3" diameter brass focal in the shape of
sun face with small tassels hangs from a necklace that, not including the pendant, is 36" in length and slips on over the head.
A truly beautiful piece that can certainly be worn as a statement jewelry piece (sure to generate questions and compliments) or hung on a wall or within shadowbox or frame as a stunning art piece.
Naga - or Nagaland - is one of India's northernmost states and borders Burma.
Elaborate jewelry is worn during festivities and in battle with glass trade beads typically matched with focals or pendants crafted from brass, bronze, bone, shell or wood.
This is a museum-quality, one-of-a-kind piece that is highly collectible but also remarkable and wearable art.
Please note that while these necklaces have been wiped down they are in fact vintage and may have been packed throughout their life in either dirt or sand to keep them safe from mice and insects between ceremonial wearings.
While any remaining dirt doesn't detract from their value or beauty, you may choose to wipe them down gently with warm water and a soft cloth or a lanolin-based baby wipe to reveal even more of the glass beads' shine.
Please don't use anything harsh or containing chemicals!
