Description
This is a Kazuo Yairi Model 5008 classical guitar that was built in Japan in 1970. It’s in superb condition and plays like a dream. Kazuo Yairi is widely considered to be one of the all-time finest Japanese luthiers. This guitar sounds exceptional. It has impressive volume and beautiful tonality, characteristic to guitars made with Brazilian rosewood. It has deep, highly resonating bass, filled with overtones, and crystal-clear, sweet and colorful treble - all balanced with wonderful sustain. Its action makes it super-easy and comfortably to play.
The laminated wood process that Yairi employed to make this instrument was like no other. The “laminated” wood in this guitar was created from two layers of solid wood bonded together with natural resins. The result is a guitar that performs as well as a solid wood guitar - and far more resistant to cracking.
