Rare Vintage 50s Kay 6858 Archtop Guitar w Maple Fretboard All Orig.
Wonderfully maintained Kay 6858 Archtop
Entirely original hardware
Bridge, trapeze, strap peg, pickguard and a great set of Waverly tuners as well.
What really stands out are the tortoiseshell red "moon dot" fret markers
against the maple fretboard,,, nice. Neck is nice and true also
The maple fretboard really brings out the warmth and volume in her.
Just outstanding tonal quality
Action is great at about 2.5MM see foto and she plays clean up and down the neck
Really a joy to play
Constructed using the "unbreakable" laminated maple with spruce
grained top and faux flamed back and sides.
Few small blemishes from 70 years of activity but she is very well built
and ready for another 70 yrs. The Kays were famous for their rock
solid construction and of course made in the USA
