    Description

KTG-11 This Kalamazoo tenor guitar, made by Gibson, has a Mahogany body that produces a warm, rich and clear tone. The fret-board is Rosewood with mother of pearl inlays. The roof top head-stock with banjo style French Ivory (celluloid?) keys suggests a late 1930's manufacture date. The neck block is ink stamped with a factory order number, 1248C, which according to http://www.guitarhq.com/gibson.html#serial indicates a manufacture date of 1937. The neck is straight with very little wear on the frets. The original tuning pins hold the guitar in tune. An instrument, of this age in this good of condition, doesn't come along very often. It measures 14 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" deep. The neck is 23" and an overall length of 38".
