This is a hand made tribal hat beaded with glass beads, colorful thread, cowry beads and other embellishments. This was purchased at a thrift store, so I don't have authentication on origin or age, however it has been identified by a textile person who spent time with the Gujarat India Rabari Tribe as a piece that can be attributed to them. That is the best I can do on identification. The detail is amazing and hours of labor went into creating this headpiece no matter who made it. It is 14" front to back with the base of the hat having a 8.5" diameter. A small 1.75" dip at the forehead area and a 4" flap at the back that hangs over the neck. Weighs 1lb 4oz
