1972-S Eisenhower Ike Silver Dollar PCGS MS66

Description

I've been going through my coins and pulling some extra single coins that looked good enough for grading.  I failed on some of them.  Some are pretty obvious why once I got them back.  Some I'm convinced I need glasses.  Some I swear the graders at PCGS are drunk.  Whatever the reason, these are taking up space and I've got better graded ones so I'm selling off the lesser ones.
This is one of those coins that I struggle with.  I was convinced it was an MS68 when I sent it in.  It's blast white and has some of the most beautiful cartwheels you'll ever see on an Ike.  Now, I'll admit - I get a lot of coins back that are a grade lower than I thought they'd be and I can usually see why, looking at it again, it was lower.  This one, however, came back TWO grades lower and I've been struggling with it since I got it back.  I can agree that maybe it's a 67 - it has some small pitting on the eagle's left leg and breast on the reverse and it has nicks below Ike's chin.  But 66?  Seriously?  The only thing I can see that may have impacted the grade that much is the rim - there's some scratches below the "1" on the obverse and several of them on the rim below the "one dollar" on the reverse.  You need some serious magnification to see these but they are there.  Thing is - I have coins for comparison.  I have a 67 that this coin blows out of the water in terms of the blast white cartwheels and overall eye candy.  I have a 68 that I actually prefer the visuals of this coin to.  Since I got this back, I've wanted to just say "screw this" and sell it and I've wanted to break it out and send it back in again.
The other odd thing is when I got this back, there are a few water spots on the obverse.  Water spots?  I took this out of a blue pack and put it directly in a flip - it definitely never saw water.  Yet, you can clearly see water spots.  Odd, huh?
One last note - the scratches are on the holder, not the coin.  They likely exist because I had this on my desk and kept looking at it daily for weeks trying to decide what to do with it and probably scratched it myself since this isn't more than 5 months old.
Ultimately, you have to ask yourself - is it worth the time and effort when the 68 is only 0?  No...no it's not.  Still...this is one of those that truly has bugged me.  I truly love this coin but if I keep it around it will continue to bug me until the end of my time and I'd rather....well, I'd rather do a lot of things than continue to stress about this coin.  LOL
