Rare Signet by Selmer GF 102 Acoustic Guitar up for grabs. This guitar sounds great the way a vintage 1970s Japanese guitar should. Selmer is a legendary brand for their excellence in building instruments. These guitars are becoming much more difficult to find.
Bang for the buck this guitar would be difficult to beat or even match.
Brand new strings are on the guitar for a fresh sound and feel.
The frets are polished clean and shine nicely. There is some fretwear on the first few frets as you would expect on a guitar this age.
The guitar has some visual wear on it (scratches and dings). In my humble opinion this adds authenticity of being a tried and true vintage instrument from the 1970s.
There is a chip off of the back/top corner of the headstock (see pictures). It cannot be seen from the front of the guitar.
The action is pretty high at the 12th fret, however the action is good on the first 4 or 5 frets and plays basic chords in that area nicely. The action below that could probably be adjusted pretty easily with a good setup, or just filing down the saddle a little bit, but I'm not an expert and don't want to try myself.
It is possible to slide a sheet of paper between the heel of the neck and the body for about an inch down (see pictures). This doesn't seem to affect how the guitar sounds or plays at all. I only thought I should mention this in the interest of being transparent about the condition of the guitar.
Case sold separately.
Feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks for looking.
